About Essco Safety Check

About Us

As parents and family members of young children, we were alarmed by the number of toys being recalled for lead. As each day brought new recalls, we became more and more concerned and wanted to know if the toys our children played with were safe. Then we learned about the accuracy of XRF analyzers in detecting lead and other toxic and heavy metals. We started our company to share this information with other parents, concerned individuals and businesses. Our simple goal is to help individuals and businesses, know what is in their environment.

Our History

We opened for business in December of 2007. Since then we have performed tens of thousands of tests all across the country. We've been featured on local and national news many times and we have worked with State and Federal government offices in many capacities, from providing testing, to testimony to government committees, to working with the CPSC on nationwide recalls.

On May 12, 2009 we opened up our first retail store front location and hope to expand to other communities soon.

Our Technology

We utilize the very latest X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) analyzer technology combined with a custom developed software analysis and reporting platform. Our expertise in both XRF technology and background in software architecture have enabled us to develop the most comprehensive mobile testing system available. We are constantly fine tuning our software platform to both optimize the accuracy and maximize the effeciency of our testing.

Our professional technicians are certified HUD Lead Inspectors and Risk Assessors in the State of Washington. We have more consumer product testing experience using XRF analyzers than virtually any other company.
