We offer a four types of inspection:
An in-home inspection is a great way to get any number of items tested quickly and easily.
We offer three types of in-home inspections
In general, we will send a trained XRF inspector will come to your location and perform an inspection on any items you wish tested.
The inspector is available to answer questions while testing is being done. After the inspection, a detailed report will be generated
(usually within 24 hours) which provides all testing information about each inspected item.
A single family in-home inspection is our most common type of in-home inspection. This inspection type typically involves an inspector
performing testing in a single home and providing a single report of findings.
The cost of a single family inspection is based on time, location and typical runs between $200.00 and $375.00. Please see the specific costs below.
The second type of in-home inspection is a toy testing party. This type of inspection is a great way to reduce individual costs
by having one of our trained inspectors come to your location and perform tests for you, your friends and family; allowing you to
share the total cost of the inspection. A toy testing party has a few different options beyond what is available for a single family
in-home inspection.
- Individualized Reports - rather than a single report of inspected items, we will provide an individualized report for each
party attendee. This individualized report will show findings specific to the attendee's tested items.
- Educational Presentations - while testing is being performed, we can provide a second trained inspector to provide an educational
presentation about the current technology and research in environmental topics such as elemental health hazards. This also allows for a dedicated question
and answer session which will not take time away from testing.
- Organized Party Bags - Make it a real party and give each attendee a goodie bag filled with educational information, as well as, a
variety of available additional products.
The cost of a toy testing party is based on time, location, and selected options.

Essco Safety Check is a certified firm (Cert #0681) in the Washington State Lead-Based Paint Program.
Our professional technitians are certified inspectors and risk assessors in this program. With this certification, we offer a variety of in-home testing services to detect and assess the
risk of lead-based paint in your home or on your property. We can also combine this structural testing with our other testing services to offer a unique
end-to-end inspection of not only your home, but the items you interact with within your home.
The cost of a Structural/Lead-based Paint Inspections and Risk Assessment is based on time, location, and selected optional testing services.

General Costs and terms
- $140 for the first 1/2 hour
- $60 for each additional 1/2 hour
- Costs are rounded to the nearest 1/4 hour
- We can typically perform around 50 tests per hour
- We are working with partners on phthalate screening - cost available soon
- There is no travel cost for inspections located within approximately 25 miles of our location in Redmond, WA
- Ferry/Toll costs are additional

With the opening of our first retail location, we now offer the option of performing tests at our office in downtown Redmond, WA.
Testing at our location can be done in two ways:
Drop off testing is a convenient way to get one or more items tested for very little cost.
Just give us a call to make sure we're in the office (we may be out doing an in-home inspection) and drop your items to be tested off.
We will test them and have a report ready for you within three business days. If you can't wait this long, you may want to do a
scheduled in-office testing session.
Drop off testing is charged based on the number of tests that you want performed (depending on the item, you may want or need more than one test per item).

If you can't wait for results, we offer the option of scheduling a time to come to our office for in-office testing.
Just give us a call to schedule a time to come to our office. We are available for these sessions most mornings and when we are not otherwise out doing an
on-site inspection. Once in our office, we'll perform testing while you wait, testing results will be produced at the end of your scheduled session.
Scheduled testing sessions have two pricing options; per test pricing or time based pricing. We can also offer a no-report option where we can give you a quick yes or no
answer to questions about the presence of any of the 26 elements we can detect. This option allows us to do much quicker testing, but does not offer a written report
at the end of the session.

Mail in testing is a convenient way to get one or more items tested even if you don't live near our office.
Steps and requirements to mail packages
Step 1: Identify all products you would like to be inspected and gather any "meta-data" about the item you would
like included in your report. This can include; product name, item number, UPC code, country of origin, manufacturer name, etc...
Step 2: Sign and date our contract, and include this in your package(s) to be mailed to us.

Step 3: Send us an email or call us with your tracking information so we can keep an eye out for your merchandise.
We will email you or call you when your package has arrived and give you an estimate on turn-around time. Currently, our turn-around
time is within 72 hours. When testing has completed, we will email you a PDF of your test results and will include a CD with our
software and your data in your returned packages.
- Each item is photographed and cataloged and any data you submit will be included.
- Items are tested one or more times using the handheld XRF analyzer.
- Element quantity and spectral analysis results are recorded for each test. This shows both numerically and graphically how
much lead and other elements are contained in the item.
Step 4: When you receive your package, please give us a call and we will help you with the installation and usage of
the software and report generation capabilities. We are always here to help.

Per test testing costs are based on our "punch card" pricing. This allows you to pre-purchase a set number of tests and use them over time.
